Include the poltical, social and economic trends and impact due to Western expansion. I know that Thomas Jefferson wanted the Louisana Purchase to strengthen American trade and settlement. He also sent Lewis and Clark to locate the fabled River of the West. He came to an agreement to pay $15 million dollars with France and this caused the size of America to double.
