You have to make some decisions.
Cake brownies, chewier brownies, fudge brownies, frosted, or plain?
The "simple" bothers me, what is simple for one, is complicated for another. The key to any brownies is what chocolate you use, and don't overbake.
I suggest chewy brownies, unfrosted.
