**Nabby**, Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 7:53pm3x-5y=-11 (A)

6x=2y=26 (B)

(A)*(2)6x-10y=-22(C)

(B)*(5)30x+10=130(D)

(C)+(D)36x =108

108/36=3

x=3

substitute in (A) or (B) choose easiest

(B)- 18+2y=26 (take 18 from both sides

2y=8

8/2

y=4

so x=3 and y=4

(3,4)
