more and more women continued to join the labor force throughout the 1950s. What change was taking place in the famale labor force?

My mother had been a teacher in Chicago before she and my dad moved to a suburb of Youngstown, Ohio, in 1953. She had to get a teaching job in a suburb because at that time the Youngstown schools would not hire married women. Needless to say, that policy was changed within the next few years.
