**Damon**, Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 5:43pmx + 7 y = 5

7 y = - x + 5

y = (-1/7) x + 5/7

so the slope , m , is -1/7

y = -1 x/7 + b

8 = -1(6)/7 + b

b = 8 + 6/7

b = (56+6)/7

b = 62/7

so

y = -(1/7) x + 62/7
