Hace unos meses que mis dientes empezaron a lastimarme mucho.
Fui a la oficina del dentista para tenerlos cuidados (inspeccionados?)

how can the second sentense be correccted?

Fui a la oficina del dentista para tenerlos revisados? You MUST say checked? I would use a synonym.
