You may have to search and research, but once you learn some good sources and methods, you should have success. In addition to searching on the Internet, you also need to make best friends with the reference librarian(s) in your local or college library. Libraries these days subscribe to enormous research databases, and they are often usually more useful than Internet searches. Ask your librarian if you have access to EBSCOHost -- it has several databases within it, including a huge one for academic research.

For Internet searching:

At this webpage, you can go immediately to the search sites (first three columns across the top) -- or even better you can scroll down until you see the section called HOW TO SEARCH THE INTERNET. Those are the links to start with. You'll not only learn how to come up with good search terms, but also how to evaluate the webpages you get as results. Some will be good and others will be garbage. You need to know how to tell the difference.

My favorite way to search is to go to Google's advanced search page http://www.google.com/advanced_search?hl=en and put my search words or phrases into the first or second search box (either "all the words" or "exact phrase"). Another is to start out at http://scholar.google.com. However, there many other strategies for searching you can use, and the HOW TO SEARCH THE INTERNET section will help you best.

Learning to use Google or other search engines can save you time and help you learn to find information efficiently. Here are some websites that can teach you how:

... and one to help you judge whether a particular website's information is worth your time:

Happy searching.

Creating a world history newspaper is a fantastic way to showcase your knowledge. To fulfill your requirements, let's break down each section and discuss how to gather the necessary content.

1. Political Cartoons:
To create political cartoons, you need to have a good understanding of the events and themes you want to portray. Research and choose two historical events or periods related to politics. Consider using online resources, books, or articles to gather information about these events. Once you have a clear idea of the events, you can create your political cartoons that effectively communicate your message.

2. News Articles:
Selecting five different news articles requires research on significant historical events. Start by choosing one ancient civilization, one world religion, World War I, and World War II. Collect information about these topics from reliable sources like history books, encyclopedias, academic journals, or reputable websites. Outline important details and write news articles about each event in a journalistic style, covering the who, what, when, where, and why.

3. Advertisement:
Create an advertisement related to one of the historical events or periods covered in your newspaper. The advertisement can be for a product, service, or event that is relevant to the topic. Consider the key aspects, values, or controversies surrounding the event and tailor the advertisement to reflect those themes. Make sure the advertisement aligns with the historical context and adds value to your newspaper.

4. Pictures/Illustrations with Captions:
Research and select ten historical photographs or illustrations that are relevant to the events you are covering. Ensure that each image is accompanied by a caption providing context and describing its significance. The images can be sourced from books, online archives, or historical websites. Remember to cite the sources of the images in your bibliography.

5. Bibliography:
Compile a list of the sources you used while conducting your research. These sources may include books, articles, websites, interviews, or documentaries. Ensure that the sources you choose are reliable and authoritative. Formats like APA, MLA, or Chicago style can be used to structure your bibliography.

Remember, the key to producing a high-quality world history newspaper is thorough research and accurate representation of historical facts. Make sure to cross-reference information from different sources for accuracy and richness of content. Good luck with your project!
