Here are the first two definitions of PULVERIZE from Dictionary.com.
"1. to reduce to dust or powder, as by pounding or grinding.
2. to demolish or crush completely."
So -- instead of pulverized you could write any of these:
reduced to powder
demolished
crushed
crushed into dust
