Curiously, it is a good question. The average daily temperature is not the same as the mean.
Usually, average daily temperature is calculated by adding the high and low temperatures for the day, and dividing by 2. It doesn't mean much, but it is a simple calculation.
Average monthly temperature is the adding of each days "average" temperature (as above), and dividing by the number of days.
Mean temperature is something else, and is computed differently.
is there any specific meaning to it?
Average temperatures allow people to compare the temperatures of two different locales.
