set each factor equal to zero, then solve to get
n = 0 or n = -3/5
2.
x^2-3x=4
x^2 - 3x + 9/4 = 4 + 9/4
(x-3/2)^2 = 25/4
x-3/2 = ± 5/2
x = 4 or x = -1
3. divide each term by 4 to get
x^2 + x = 6
x^2 + x + 1/4 = 6 + 1/4
(x+1/2)^2 = 25/4
x + 1/2 = ±5/2
x = 2 or x = -3
