we must choose era or fue -- i think it is fue.

2. A los anos descubrieron que marquitos era/fue milope y le pusieron gafas, claro.

Preterit is for action = fue bu t Imperfect is for description = era. Which do you want?

1. Ana tenía una casa preciosa en el centro (that is Imperfect), pero era muy vieja y no tenía calefacción. (this seems to continue the description.) Al final, se mudó = that is definitely Preterit to show the action.

2. A los años (?) descubrieron que Marquitos era (description) miope y le pusieron gafas (action), claro.
