Homework Help: math

In a restaurant, a man ordered soup for $3, an appetizer for
$4.25, dinner for $17.90, a beverage for $1.50, and dessert for
$3.75. He left the server a 15% tip. What was the total cost of
the man’s meal, including the tip?
A. $36.11 C. $30.40
B. $34.96 D. $4.56

my answer is (b)

I added the cost of meal and x'd it by 15% then added both together is this the correct way?
