Homework Help: Chemistry

write the chemical equation for the following:
solid ammonium nitrite decomposes to form an inert gas and water vapor.

so, I think it's NH4NO2 ----> H2O +

I can't think of, but I can't think of what to do with N because N is not an inert gas... Am I interpreting the equation wrong.
