I am looking for some pointers, ideas or links to resources. Discuss the relationship between art and modern life in Europe from c. 1830-1880. What factors (political, social, economic, intellectual) contributed to the formation of modern society in the nineteenth century? How does the art of this period reflect these developments? Consider how subject matter, style, sources of inspiration, and mood illuminate modernism, and be certain to illustrate your arguments with references to specific works of art.
