**Reiny**, Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 10:04pmdid you mean

(2x+3)^(2/3) = 3 ??

cube both sides:

(2x+3)^2 = 27

now take √ of both sides

2x + 3 = ± √27

2x = -3 ± √27

x = (-3 ± √27)/2
