the x-intercept of -3 corresponds to the point (-3,0)
so the slope is (5-0)/(6+3) = 5/9
then
y - 5 = (5/9)(x-6)
9y - 45 = 5x - 30
9y = 5x + 15
y = (5/9)x + 15/9
y = (5/9)x + 5/3
