I need help with this question, A 4ohm resistor is connected in parallel with a 6 ohm resistor. What is the total resistance of this pair of resistors? I know the answer is 2.4 ohms, but I don't know how to get it. Please help!!

I know very little about electronics and even less about college physics,
so I went to google and entered "resistors in parallel" and within 15 seconds found the formula:
combined resistance = (R1 x R2)/(R1 + R2)
= 6x4/(6+4)
= 2.4
