if you want an "exact" you will have to use only fractions

2 2/7 minus 1.75

= 16/7 - 7/4

= 64/28 - 49/8

= 15/28

Let's change the decimal to a fraction.

1.75 = 1 3/4

Next we need a common denominator -- which is 28.

2 2/7 = 2 8/28

1 3/4 = 1 21/28

2 8/28 - 1 21/28 = 1 36/28 - 1 21/28 = 15/28
