**drwls**, Friday, March 20, 2009 at 4:27amYour statements or directions are all unclear about whether you are rolling one or two dice. Are you looking for a total of three on two dice or a "3" on one of the dice? The singular form of "dice" is "die", in case you are throwing only one.

Two dice will have two faces up, but you say "the face of the dice", mixing singular and plural in a confusing way.

If you are throwing one only die, it would be better to say:

Roll a die. If you get 3 on the face of the die, move forward for 3 spaces.
