(-2, -1), and (-7,-4)

The equation of the line in slope-intercept from is y= what

**drwls**, Monday, March 16, 2009 at 11:40pmThe slope is

m = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

= [-4 -(-1]/[-7-(-2)]

= -3/-5 = 3/5

The equation will be of the form

y = (3/5) x + b

Use the coordinates of either point to solve for b

-1 = (-2)(3/5) + b = -6/5 + b

b = 1/5
