An essay on the following question:

How is Macbeth affected when he learns of his wife's death?
Consider:
-The Action of Act 5-Macbeth is standing almost alone, most of his warriors have fled, and he questions what it was all for.
-The Characters of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth- how they have changed throughout the play? How has their relationship changed?
-The Language that Shakespeare uses tro show Macbeth's feelings.
-The Structure of the play-why include this moment of quiet before Macduff arrives to attack?
-The Themes of the play- what is Shakespeare saying about ambition, fate, destiny and human nature?
-What is your personal response to this scene? Do you feel sorry for Macbeth?
