The only stress I know about was about the returning soldiers. Some suffered "shell shock" and had emotional problems. Others grew disastisfied with farm work after being in Europe for a while. As a popular song went -- "How can you keep them down on the farm after they've seen Paree?"
Many people flocked to the cities to get factory jobs.
