A feud between two people is not considered a social disease because it usually doesn't spread very far.
However, feuds between tribes or ethnic groups can consume thousands of people for many generations. They often remember slights and violence between ancestors and carry these hatreds on from father to son for a long time.
Control is contagious when groups of people with control over others passionately feel that they must contain control. Their allies strive to join the controlling group for the power it brings them. The natural reaction of those who are controlled is to try to gain control over their adversaries.
