Books that promote tolerance include

A.stereotyped characters
B.sexist attitudes
C.male and female
D. racist beliefs.

The one that I pick was A

I will never put a woman in my book as a lead character, only maids, or bimbos. If fact, they don't even belong in any book except in secondary roles. That includes Jewish and black women.

Geepers, that promotes Tolerance, doesn't it? Now which answer do you pick?

Do you have a problem with black women having lead roles because I am black and I am very independent and a leader

What Bobpursley is trying to get you to do is think -- which of those answers is NOT a negative? Diversity and tolerance are positives, and a negative answer will not work.

Brenna: I was too subtle. The answer is C, diversity includes male and female. I was role modeling answers a, b, and d. They are not diversity.

Thanks for clearing that up.I appoligize if there was any misunderstanding.

Brenna, one of the tricks to answering multiple-choice question/answer set-ups is to see if three of the four (or four of the five) possible answers have commonalities. Usually they will, or maybe two or three will, and then you'll have two to actually choose from. Be sure to practice "process of elimination" in answering these if the right answer doesn't just jump right out at you.

If you are looking for books that promote tolerance, it's important to avoid books with stereotyped characters. Stereotyped characters perpetuate biases and can reinforce negative stereotypes about certain groups of people. By choosing books that avoid stereotypes and promote diverse perspectives, you can help promote understanding, empathy, and respect for all individuals.

To find books that promote tolerance, you can follow these steps:

1. Research diverse authors: Look for authors from different backgrounds, cultures, and experiences. They often bring unique perspectives into their writing, fostering diversity and representation.

2. Explore genres and themes: Consider exploring books in genres like contemporary fiction, historical fiction, memoirs, or non-fiction that focus on themes of inclusivity, diversity, and understanding. These books often shed light on personal experiences different from our own, encouraging empathy and tolerance.

3. Read reviews and recommendations: Check out book reviews or seek recommendations from friends, librarians, or online book communities. Look for feedback that highlights a book's ability to tackle issues of tolerance, acceptance, and understanding.

4. Visit libraries and bookstores: Local libraries and bookstores usually have sections dedicated to diverse literature or books that promote tolerance. Browse these sections to discover new titles that align with your interests.

5. Join book clubs or discussion groups: Engaging in book clubs or online discussions focused on diverse literature can expose you to a variety of perspectives. This can help you discover and discuss books that promote tolerance.

Remember, omitting books with stereotyped characters is an essential step to ensure that you are promoting tolerance through literature. By actively choosing books that celebrate diversity and challenge biases, you can play a role in fostering a more inclusive society.
