I think you are correct, what info on the Web is lacking in detail. I recommend call your local library reference librarian, surely, someone has written a book on him, or a book of the times that has a section dedicated to him and his brother.
In addition to searching Google for him by name (I can't even post the search results here!!), you should also search for him by name in Google Scholar and Google Books.

If none of these work out well, you'll need to do what Bobpursley has suggested and work with a reference librarian. Those people are trained to find even hard-to-find things!
