First do a simple problem so you can do it with a tree
    say 2 s (for sandals), 2 p (for pants), 2 t (for ts)

    at the top, two s
    .......s...........s
    .....p...p.......p...p
    ....t.t.t.t.....t.t.t.t
    2*2*2 = 8
    now
    8*6*12 = ?
