The diameter of Earth is about 8,000 mi. Suppose a jet is traveling around Earth at an altitude of 30,000 ft. How many miles will the jet travel in a complete circle aroung Earth?
a. 94,247.8 mi.
b. 25,156.7 mi.
c. 38,000 mi.
d. 8,005.7 mi.

5,280 ft. = 1 mile
30,000 / 5,280 = 5.68 miles

8,000 + 5.68 = 8,005.68 miles = new diameter

C = pi * d

C = 3.14 * 8,005.68
C = 25,137.835 miles
