this is what i come up with:
-2 ÷ -5 = .4
It could also be
(-2/25) -30 = - 32 2/5
or
17 - (19/25) -30 = -13 19/25
or a lot of other answers.
What you calculated was
(17-19)÷ [(5)(5) -30]= -0.4
If you don't understand the importance of when and how to use parentheses, you are going to have a lot of difficulty with algebra
the way the problem was originally written is the way it is presented to me.
The only parentheses are the ones in the denominator around the 5's
