how can the chemical energy of your lunch today become the energy you need to deliver the newspapers after school tomorrow?

    Chemical energy in food is converted to mechanical energy (work) performed by muscles, by means of a complex series of chemical reactions that take place in the body. Mechanical energy can also be extracted from body fat, or even muscle, during periods of fasting.
