Homework Help: math 6th grade

Using Multiplication to solve equations:
9y-5 had to iron space suits for the astronuts. When he finished he turned in the suits to his commander. The commander counted the suits and realized that 54 of them were missing. 9Y-5 blushed and explained that he had burned 1/4 of the suits with the iron. To keep the commander from getting angry he had lauched the burned suits into space. How many suits were there orginally ?
