Terrific start! Only capitalize "Yo" when it begins a sentence = Cuando yo estaba en el grado ocho de la clase de historia, etc. (yo iba means I was going but yo estaba means I was in) For politeness sake, "con la Señorita Harvey." Yo trabajé (accent)tres meses en mi informe. (Your English said "my" but your Spanish said "the.") El día cuando se debió el informe (word order), yo estaba nervioso y alegre (adjective not noun) de mi trabajo. Eso me enseñó que yo era capaz de conseguir un buen grado, etc. Check spelling here = otro evento...la economía en Los Estados Unidos es muy mala.
Always check necessary accents, whether you want ir or estar or ser, whether you want an adjective (alegre) or a noun (alegría,) capitalization = all part of proofreading!
