Study the line graph provided below. The line in the graph shows crime rates. It depicts the number of victims per 1,000 persons, age 12 years and over, in the United States from 1973 through 2003.

Now, answer the following questions:

1. According to this graph, what is the lowest violent crime rate? In which year was it the lowest?1985

2. What does the x-intercept in this graph represent? highest and lowest crime rate

3. What does the y-intercept in this graph represent? Number of victims per 1000 persons (age 12 yrs. And over)
