I need to use a short tree which is 2m in height to find the height of a tall tree....The distance from the end point to the short tree is 3m and the distance from the end point to the tall tree is 15m..I need an algebra equation to find the solution...I beleive the tall tree is approximately 10m tall...Can anyone help...

<<..The distance from the end point to the short tree is 3m >>

the distance of what? The shadow?

(That is the usual case in these kind of problems)

If it is the shadow, make a diagram showing the small tree and its shadow, and the larger tree and its shadow.

You will have two similar triangles, (the rays of the sun come in parallel to each other, resulting in equal angles)

Let the height of the tree be h m, set up a ratio, cross-multiply and solve for h
