Hello,

I am planning to teach my 5th grade class how to write a persuasive letter to the President of the United States. However, I need to show them a few examples of how other students wrote their persuasive letters about particular issues. Where online could I find sample persuasive letters that were written by actually students?

excellent sites on writing persuasive letters. Lots of ideas and connecting links.

However, I do not believe you will find examples of student written material on line.

You might ask your supervising teacher if there are copies of student material from years past that you could copy after removing the names.

You will find some interesting examples here. Some of the children who wrote them later became famous themselves. (That may be why they are available in the National Archives)

To find sample persuasive letters written by students, you can try the following steps:

1. Start by using a search engine like Google.
2. Enter specific keywords related to your search, such as "sample persuasive letters written by students."
3. To refine your search, you can specify the grade level, for example, "5th grade persuasive letter examples."
4. Explore different websites and online platforms that offer educational resources, writing samples, or student work.
5. Look for websites that focus on educational content, teacher resources, or student writing contests, as they often provide sample persuasive letters.
6. Additionally, consider checking educational forums or communities where teachers share resources and ideas. Websites like Teachers Pay Teachers or forums like The Teacher's Corner could be helpful.
7. Look for websites affiliated with educational organizations or reputable institutions, such as universities or writing centers.

Remember to review and adapt any found sample letters according to your specific needs and requirements. It's important to ensure that the examples align with the grade level and the issues your students will address in their persuasive letters.
