Homework Help: Lisa: Math # 2

Posted by Ms. Sue on Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 6:29pm.

Here's your original problem:

2) To recieve a license to sell insurance, an insurance account executive must answer correctly 70% of the 250 questions on a test. Nicholas Mosley answered 177 questions correctly. Did he pass the test?

First, let's figure how many right answers are passing on this test.

0.7 * 250 = 175

To pass this test, students need at least 175 correct answers.

Nicholas answered 177 correctly.

Therefore he passed the test because he has two more right answers than is needed for passing it.
