Select one of the following statements from p.221 of Supervision: Key Link to Productivity (8th ed.). Do you agree or disagree with the statement? Explain your reasons.

1. “The supervisor’s primary objective should be to avoid making mistakes in employment decisions that can lead to EEO [Equal Employment Opportunity] complaints.”

2. “Organizations should be allowed to hire anyone they choose.”

  Yes, I do agree with the statement because it is a free world. Also, everyone has the right to hire anyone they think will do the best job or is right for that job in a business or organization. Organizations and businesses have the right to hire anyone they want to.

Really? Does that mean an organization can hire pentacostal christians only? Or lesbians? or whites only? Children only?

What makes you think freedom means folks can do what they want to do?
