Like how to figure out if an equation is a function or not a funcion.

for example:

1) 3x+2y=6,

2) x=y^2+2

and

3) y=square root of 1-x

thank you

**drwls**, Thursday, November 13, 2008 at 8:04pmThe equation in 1, after rearranging, can be considered y as a function of x or x as a function of y.

2. expresses x as a function of y and

3. expresses y as a function of x.

I would say that they are all functions, but your teacher may have other ideas.
