I'm writing a paper in microsoft word, but I am having problem with the spacing of my paragraphs. I want the paper to be double space, but the paragraphs seems to be more than double space. Is there a way to change this?
If you already have your paper set to be double spaced, make sure you're NOT hitting the Enter key more than once after the end of a paragraph.
How did you get the file set for double spacing? Did you type a few single-spaced lines and then press Ctrl + 2 -- I hope you did that. But still ... don't press that Enter key more than once at the end of a paragraph to start a new one.
You can also tell what you have done by clicking on the paragraph button (¶) on the toolbar at the top of the screen. If you see extra paragraph marks at the left margin, you'll know you hit the Enter key too many times.

To check the paragraph spacing that you have. Highlight a paragraph with the curser.
Go to the tool bar and click on
This will bring up a box that shows the current settings for the paragraph spacing. Adjust the spacing from here.
