The dose of gentamicin sulfate is 1.7mg/kg. How many mls of an injectable solution containing 40mg/ml should be administered to a person weighing 220 pounds? Any help is appreciated.

You want a dosage of 220lbs(1.7mg/kg)(1kg/2.2lbs) calculate that.

Now, to get that many milligrams of gentamicin sulfate,

dosage=concentration*volume
so volume = dosageCalculatedAabove/(40mg/ml)
