For the unit that I'm doing we need to write a research paper on something that we're interested in. It can be a broad topic because I can narrow it down. I just need some suggestions on what I should write it about because I'm totally blank. (Something interesting from an 8th grader's point of veiw)

thank you

You're welcome.

There are probably more ideas in there than you expected! But the point is to read through the lists until you find something that interests you -- or that triggers another idea in your mind.

Let us know what you decide.

=)

I decided on a topic from the second URl: enviromental issues; should recycling be mandatory?

I chose this because it means a lot to me and its something i actually know about so I think I'll pass this unit.
Thanks Again :D

Excellent! Good choice!

Have fun with it, too!

=)

Sure! Coming up with a research paper topic can sometimes be challenging, but I'm here to help. Since you're an 8th grader, it would be great to choose a topic that you find genuinely interesting. Here are a few suggestions to get you started:

1. Ancient civilizations: Investigate the lifestyle, beliefs, and inventions of a specific ancient civilization like the Egyptians, Greeks, or Mayans.
To research this topic, you can start by looking for books, online articles, or videos related to the ancient civilization that catches your interest. Look for topics and subtopics within that civilization that you can focus on.

2. Space exploration: Explore the history and future of space exploration, including important missions, discoveries, and plans to colonize other planets.
To research this topic, you can browse websites like NASA's official website, watch documentaries on space exploration, and read books or articles written specifically for young readers.

3. Environmental issues: Investigate a specific environmental issue that concerns you, such as deforestation, pollution, or climate change.
To research this topic, start by looking for reliable sources like scientific journals, environmental organizations' websites, and news articles that discuss the specific issue you're interested in.

4. Famous inventors: Choose a famous inventor or invention and delve into their life and the impact they had on society.
To research this topic, you can start by reading biographies, watching documentaries, or exploring museum websites that showcase the lives and achievements of famous inventors.

Remember, these are just suggestions to get you started. Feel free to choose a topic that aligns with your interests and allows you to explore something you find genuinely fascinating.
