what is the answer to this, please work it out. this is a fraction but i could not format it as such.

5x(2)(squared) - 10x
7x-8 - 10x

you mean:
5x^2-10x
5x(x-2)
but is this equation equal to 0 zero?
if yes
than your points are
5x=0
x=0
and
x-2=0 so your other x is 2
