Homework Help: geometry/algebra

I have tried to work this several ways and can not get the answer of 5

find x if the slope of a line passing through points A(4,3) and B(x,7)equals 4

For line between the points (x2,y2) and (x,y1), the slope is
m = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) = (7-3)/(x-4) = 4

Therefore 4x - 16 = 7 - 3 = 4
4x = 20

x = 5 is the correct answer
