**Reiny**, Friday, October 10, 2008 at 5:46pmI taught math for over 35 years and I don't have a clue what you mean by

"regroup when multiplying a 3 digit number by a 2 digit number"

What new-fangled way are they using now, and where is that being taught?

**Writeacher**, Friday, October 10, 2008 at 6:10pm"Regroup" is one of the new terms in math these days!! It is the same as carrying in addition and borrowing in subtraction.

Drives me nuts, these various versions of "new math."
