48 equals a number increased by 6, and the sum, all multiplied by 5.

I have the answer, but I am unable to set up an equation.

answer - x=3 3/5

- ALGEBRA again still need help ! -

(x+6)*5 = 48

5x + 30 = 48

5x = 18

x = 18/5

There is no minus sign in front of the x, as you have written in your last line.
