What is a nonpartisan election? Is it either a voter who votes undicided or when the election does not have distinct parties?

Nonpartisan elections are those in which the candidates are not identified by party. Our city and county commissioner elections are nonpartisan.

ok thank you, what is an Organizational Party? I actually am trying to look for it on the web, but i cant find it...

Most of these terms are rather specific and aren't in common usage, at least in my experience.

I'm active in party politics and I don't know what an organizational party is. Check your assigned reading materials.

A nonpartisan election refers to an election in which candidates are not officially affiliated with any political party. It means that candidates do not declare a party affiliation, and the election is not influenced or organized based on party lines.

To understand the concept of a nonpartisan election, it's important to recognize the role of political parties in most elections. In a typical partisan election, candidates are nominated and supported by political parties, such as Republicans or Democrats. Party affiliation often indicates a particular set of principles, policies, and ideologies that candidates align with and seek to promote.

In contrast, in a nonpartisan election, candidates run as individuals, without any explicit party label. Voters assess the candidates' qualifications, positions on issues, and other factors without the influence of party affiliations. The goal of nonpartisan elections is often to promote independent thinking, discourage political polarization, and focus on the qualifications and ideas of individual candidates rather than party loyalty.

It's important to note that nonpartisan elections do not necessarily mean that voters are undecided or that the election has no distinct parties. Rather, the focus is on candidates running independently without party labels.
