It looks as if what you need to do is learn how to conduct thorough and effective searches for yourself. That's what research is, and I'm sure that's what your teacher expects you to do – conduct research. You are searching for information that is so specific that you have to be prepared for the possibility that none of it may be online. Or some may be, and some may not. In addition to searching on the Internet, you also need to make best friends with the reference librarian(s) in your local or college library.

At this webpage, you can go immediately to the search sites (first three columns across the top) -- or even better you can scroll down until you see the section called HOW TO SEARCH THE INTERNET. Those are the links to start with. You'll not only learn how to come up with good search terms, but also how to evaluate the webpages you get as results. Some will be good and others will be garbage. You need to know how to tell the difference.

My favorite way to search is to go to Google's advanced search page http://www.google.com/advanced_search?hl=en and put my search words or phrases into the first or second search box (either "all the words" or "exact phrase"). However, there many other strategies for searching you can use, and the HOW TO SEARCH THE INTERNET section will help you best.

Learning to use Google or other search engines can save you time and help you learn to find information efficiently. Here are some websites that can teach you how:

... and one to help you judge whether a particular website's information is worth your time:

Happy searching.

Sure! I can provide you with some ideas and points to include in each essay. Here's how you can approach each question:

(i) How did World War 1 affect Australia's history?
1. Economic Impact: Discuss how Australia's economy was heavily influenced by the war. Focus on the shift from a primarily agricultural economy to a more industrialized one, as well as the booming mining industry due to increased demand for resources.
2. Social Impact: Explore how the war affected Australian society and culture. Discuss the impact on population, including the loss of soldiers and changes in immigration patterns. Additionally, highlight how the war led to the empowerment of women and the rise of social movements such as the Australian Labor Party.
3. Political Impact: Highlight the political changes that occurred as a result of World War 1. Mention the introduction of conscription debates and the emergence of new political groups, such as the National Party, which represented rural interests.
4. International Relations: Discuss Australia's increased involvement in global affairs, both during and after the war. Include the creation of the League of Nations and Australia's role in the Paris Peace Conference.

(ii) Explain what the industrial disputes of the 1920s showed about the problems facing Australian society during this decade:
1. Labor Movements: Discuss the rise of labor movements and unions during the 1920s. Highlight the major strikes, such as the 1929-1930 Maritime Strike, which demonstrated the growing dissatisfaction among workers.
2. Economic Challenges: Explain how the industrial disputes reflected the economic difficulties faced by Australian society. Discuss issues such as unemployment, low wages, and poor working conditions that led to worker discontent.
3. Political Tensions: Describe the political tensions between labor unions, employers, and the government during this period. Examine the response of the government to the industrial disputes, including the use of force and the implementation of labor laws.
4. Social Inequality: Analyze how the industrial disputes shed light on the social inequalities in Australian society. Discuss the divide between workers and employers, as well as the challenges faced by marginalized groups, such as indigenous Australians and women.

Remember to use these points as a guideline and expand upon each one with specific examples and evidence. Good luck with your essays!
