I have an essay to write but I don't know how to begin an introductory paragraph. Can you help me with the paragraph for the following topic?

Why do Americans eat so much junk food?

Every day, there are all sorts of people from children to adults seen eating on the go. They eat junk food, such as candy bars, chips, cookies and drinking sodas. Why do Americans eat so much junk food? Buying junk food cost less, it is easy attainable, and it taste great.

Your introductory paragraph is fine without the last sentence. The last sentence seems to answer your question. These answers and their evidence can be in the following paragraphs. What are you using as a comparison? In other words, what are you classifying as "non-junk" food?

I would change the second sentence for clarity and so the verbs match.

They drink sodas and eat junk food, such as candy bars, chips and cookies.
