on the map of Ga one inch is equivalent to 15 miles 1 inch=15 miles.If the distance between 2 towns is 1 3/4 inches what is the actual distance between the towns

First, you know that 1 inch is 15 miles, so that leaves you with the 3/4 of an inch. Divide 15 by 4, and then multiply by 3. This should give you 11.25. Then add 15+11.25=? and you should get your answer.
