a cubic piece of metal measures 5.00 cm on each edge. if the metal is nickel, whose density is 8.90g/cm cubed, what is the mass of the cube?

chemistry
bobpursley,
mass=density*volume
figure first the volume of the cube.

alice,
that's what I don't understand! :(

chemistry
Ms. Sue,
The volume of the cube:
5 * 5 * 5 = 125 cubic centimeters
chemistry
DrBob222,
volume = length x width x height and those are given in the problem.

chemistry
Q,
Answer is 1480g Do the math. Someone already gave the formula. The cm cancels out after multiplying. Note: you have to cube the 5.5cm
