thanks for the help for before I have a new question now... figures sense this text book asks questions that it dosen't even explain how in the pages before review questions...

ok so I learned how to conver measurements in like seventh grade and sense then forgot how to do so...

My teacher told us some stupid thing like

King Henery Died Monday in the Kitchen Drinking Chocolate milk

or something like that

and then there was a chart thingy that had

K H D M K...

I completely forgot how to do this. I rember if you have one piece of information like kilio meters and want to convert it to meters you couls some how by putting it under the K and then moving it over a certain amount of spaces tell u get under the right leter. This would tell u how many zeros to add to the left or to the right...

ok so I completly forgot how to do unit conversions. I know you have to do something like that but I forgot. I know there are many other sayings or whatever to help you rember what order the leters go in.

But now I'm lost and don't rember that many years ago. I rember it being very simple and easy once you make the chart. But now i don't rember exactly how to do this...

like 2dm to m

I know that K is a thousand and m is a million or someting like that but what if you want to convert liters?

Some one please tell me how to do this. I googled King Henery Died in the Kitchen Drinking Chocolate milk and got nothing...

also does anyone here now latin becasue I'm taking that right now and don't even know if this place can help me with latin sense it's not a popular language

I would memorize the metric prefixes, using flash cards, and would NOT try any of those silly phrases.

(Broken Link Removed)

We have two latin experts. Put LATIN in the subject title.

No problem! I'm here to help you refresh your memory on unit conversions.

To convert between units, you can use the acronym "King Henry Died by Drinking Chocolate Milk" to help you remember the order of the metric prefixes. Here's how it works:

1. Write down the given measurement along with its unit. For example, you have 2 dm (decimeters).

2. Identify the starting unit. In this case, it's "dm," which stands for decimeters.

3. Determine the target unit you want to convert to. Let's say you want to convert it to meters (m).

4. Look at the "King Henry Died by Drinking Chocolate Milk" chart or the metric prefix chart. It represents the order of the prefixes and their corresponding powers of 10. The chart is as follows:

| K (kilo) | H (hecto) | D (deka) | --- | d (deci) | c (centi) | m (milli) |

5. Starting from the given unit (dm in this case), move either left or right on the chart to reach the target unit (meters). To move left, divide by 10 for each position. To move right, multiply by 10 for each position.

6. In this example, you want to move from "dm" to "m." Since "dm" is one position to the right of "m" on the chart, you need to divide by 10.

7. Divide the given value (2) by 10. The result is 0.2, which means 2 dm is equal to 0.2 meters.

So, 2 dm is equivalent to 0.2 meters.

For converting liters or any other metric units, you can apply the same method. Just remember the metric prefixes and their positions on the "King Henry Died by Drinking Chocolate Milk" chart, and then move left or right accordingly.

If you have any more specific examples or questions, feel free to ask!
